Hidden Treasure

Do you ever just look up to Heaven and not be able to help but laugh because of what God just did for you? Do you ever just shake your head at the inside joke He obviously orchestrated to happen right in front of you? (I sure hope this isn’t just me or I might sound like a lunatic). Even if your initial answer would be, “No, I’m not a crazy person”… I would like you to read on and then ask yourself again if you have ever experienced one of those moments (because I’m betting you have).

I’m a firm believer that God whispers beautiful secrets into your heart.

These secrets are hidden treasures placed throughout your day for you, and you alone, to find. It’s almost like life is a giant scavenger hunt and God is the one placing the clues to your next destination. We already know that God is the ultimate planner, and more specifically… the ultimate planner of your days.

“…all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:16

ALL of the days that God ordained for you are already written in His book. He had your next breath, minute, hour, day, week, month, year and life planned before you were born. So, how could we not expect Him to hide “treasured secrets” along the way?

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” James 1:17

These “treasures” or “gifts from above” can look like many things:

  • Your favorite worship song played in Church
  • A child’s smile
  • Hearing the same verse for the 100th time in a week
  • Finding a vintage steal at Goodwill
  • Bumping into an old best friend
  • A compliment from a stranger
  • Getting to pet a dog (what could be more perfect?)

These are moments created for you alone…to anyone else, they would seem insignificant but to you, they make your day. Sometimes you might feel like you’re the only one seeing it, but this is how it is intended to be: a hidden treasure for your heart to hold.

Divine secrets are just one of His many ways to say:

“I see you. I’m moving despite the confusion. And I love you”

These are the beauties of His treasured whispers and powerful promises.
